Sorry for the delay! I had finals and they pretty much kicked my butt :) And also, I feel like I have so much information I want to share that I didn't know where to begin...
I'm sure the importance of SPF has been crammed down most of your throats, but recently it was brought to my attention that 3 (!) of my friends had NO idea how truly beneficial sunscreen is. Seriously, they never wore it and didn't even know how harmful and damaging the sun is!!
I will admit, I didn't become concerned about the sun or wearing sunscreen until the past few years. I lived in the tanning bed in high school and never, ever wore sunscreen when at the pool or the beach. It wasn't until I started noticing that friends my age were getting crows feet around their eyes and had wrinkle lines on their forehead that I decided that wasn't going to happen to me!
It took me a while to find a sunscreen I really liked. I don't wear foundation although there are many foundations now with SPF already added to them. I tried a lot of different types of sunscreen designed for the face, until I finally landed on Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisture Facial Moisturizer SPF 35 (I feel like Neutrogena always has the longest names for their products!)
This moisturizer is hypoallergenic, oil-free, alcohol free and Dermatologist recommended. Plus, I know it's won an Allure Award for best moisturizer. It is super light weight and doesn't leave a greasy feeling that most products with sunscreen tend to have. And, it's at a great price :)
I don't care if it's a blizzard in February, if your skin is exposed outside, it NEEDS to have sunscreen. Period. It helps protect your skin against cancer AND it helps prevent wrinkles.
Promise you'll try to start incorporating it into your daily beauty regime? It's never too early or too late to start using sunscreen. And, to all my younger readers, the earlier you start with preserving your skin the better! I promise you'll thank me when you're 55 :)
